Crews Letter #2008 01   After the Lost Year

                                                                                                                                      Return to the Crews Page

The 2007 Season was great.  It had a different pace.  We never took the time to write it up.  Sorry.

Now, we are back in Marmaris, preparing Perception for a Thursday launch.  The plane trip over was eventful and similar to last year.  We should sue American Airlines for our country’s name back.  They are a discredit to us all.  Do not believe them when they say, “We know why you fly.”

They don’t have a clue.

For future reference, the word, “kidnapped” is on the blacklist.  It is right up there with “bomb”, “box cutter” and “toe nail clipper”.  After being lured into a plane on the pretence that it was going to Chicago with an “on-time” departure, after waiting one and a half hours with the door closed, after the flight attendant suggested that if we wanted to know about available alternatives to the missed connection in Chicago we should call the airline on our cell phone, Fred said this is a lot like being kidnapped.  Mistake!  They opened the door.  They accused us of being hostile.  They tried to throw us off the plane.  Fortunately, the plump, red haired, old broad assigned the task was not persistent enough.  The booking agent who appeared at the door did not have a clue.  He did warn that if we got off the plane, AA was finished for this trip and future travel would be on our nickel.  The plump broad tried again.  The purser came round.  He did not have a clue.  He did call off Plumper.

We did get here.  The luggage was three days late.

They don’t have a clue.

Perception is ship shape and ready for the launch.  A week or so at the dock and we will be ready for some cruising.

Sails, Full and By,

Phyl and Fred
