Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen:

Gail and Sara arrived at Kalimaki Marina on time and in typical “jet lag” mode. Their trip had been uneventful for the most part and they were ready to sail. After the traditional safety briefing we set sail for Aigina. The weather was good, the winds kind and there was a space on the town wall. Life is good.

Now it is eight days later and they are just leaving Crete, first by ferry to Athens and then by air to Dallas. Their cruise came from Athens to Rethymno. They called on Aigina Town on Aigina, Mandraki Bay on Idras, a short walk from Idras Town, Monemavassia on the Peloponnesus, Avlemonas on Kithra, Hania and Rethymno on Crete.

The original plan included an overnight in Gerakas. There was no place on the city wall deep enough for Perception’s rudder. She has a ding on the tailing corner to show for it. The day was early so on to Monemavassia for two nights. The water in the marina there was warm enough for a swim. First of the season is refreshing.

During the week, Perception logged 279 miles. Our longest day was Kithra to Crete, 66 miles on a single reach.

Sara has promised to write up a trip log and when it comes, you will get it. Maybe Gaulberto’s will come first.

Having seen the west end of Crete, we have asked Francis and Suzy to meet us at Agios Nikolaos Marina.

Agios Nikolaos Marina will be our contact point for Dave and Carol in late May. Their cruise is east to Rhodes.

After that, the next stop is Turkey. We are still in need of crew for June, the first half of July and August through October.

Keep a Tight Luff,

Fred
